Other cultural events

During the summer season, the city and its environs also host a number of family festivals, city days and other outdoor events that create an unforgettable atmosphere of holiday Wroclaw. Film lovers can look forward to outdoor cinema and the internationally renowned New Horizons Film Festival, among others.

The New Horizons Film Festival is one of the most important film events in Poland, held annually in Wroclaw. The festival presents ambitious, artistic films from all over the world, which often do not get wide theatrical distribution. The festival includes film screenings, meetings with filmmakers, panel discussions and film workshops. New Horizons is not only a treat for cinephiles, but also a place for film professionals to meet and exchange experiences.

The city also has several summer outdoor cinemas that attract film lovers for open-air screenings in the evenings. The repertoire ranges from cinema classics to the latest film productions, and the screenings are often free of charge, which is an added incentive to attend. Outdoor cinema is a great way to relax after a day full of sightseeing, surrounded by beautiful Wroclaw landscapes. One of the most interesting locations is the roof of the Renoma department store, which provides an amazing view of the Wroclaw skyline. Similarly popular is the cinema on Piaskowa Island, where regular movie screenings are held surrounded by the picturesque scenery of the Oder River, with the possibility of spreading a blanket on the grass.

Celebrated annually, Wroclaw Days is a celebration of the city that attracts residents and tourists. It’s a time when the entire city bustles with life, with numerous cultural and sporting events taking place in the streets, squares and parks. The celebration includes numerous concerts, artistic performances, parades and fireworks displays. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the rich history and culture of Wroclaw, as well as participate in many interesting events. A variety of workshops, demonstrations and competitions are then held, attracting both children and adults.

Another interesting event is the Wroclaw Family Picnic, which is held periodically in various parks and recreational areas of the city. The picnic offers many attractions for whole families, including games and activities, art workshops, sports shows and outdoor concerts. It’s the perfect place to spend a summer day in the company of loved ones, enjoying outdoor activities.

On summer weekends, too, Salt Square turns into a colorful oasis during the Festival of Flowers. The event attracts florist lovers, offering a rich selection of flowers, plants and floral arrangements. In addition to the opportunity to purchase beautiful bouquets and plants, participants can take part in workshops for creating floral compositions and admire floral exhibitions.
