Polish School of Posters

If you find yourself strolling through the corridors of the Europeum, be sure to take some time to admire the outstanding works of the Polish School of Posters.

The term was coined in the 1960s to describe a group of Polish poster artists who created unique, stylistically diverse posters on political, cultural, and social issues and were widely appreciated all over the world.

Polish art poster began appearing back to 1899 from the special prints, such as “Interior” by Stanisław Wyspiański. These posters were united by conciseness, irony, economy of form, and innovative lettering.

The posters are interesting as they reflect the political and social issues of the times in which they were created and are still relevant today.

The legacy of the Polish School of Posters lives on as a testament to the power of aesthetic, quirky design and its ability to convey important messages.
