Marcin Litwa

Art curator at EUROPEUM

Marcin Litwa is a master goldsmith and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, School of Arts and Crafts. He has participated in nine group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including the Stanislaw Libensky Award 2011 in Prague, Biennale Internationale du Verre 2013 “Reflections” in Strasbourg, and “Talents 2016” in Munich.

Marcin combines different techniques and styles in his works, building on the material knowledge he has acquired over the years. He believes that applied art is a foundation that enriches everyday life. Designing it is a kind of duty and service for him. Applied art makes the lives of others fuller, simpler, but at the same time more beautiful.

Marcin Litwa's atelier

Marcin Litwa Atelier is located within the walls of the historic and iconic Pokoyhof Passage in Wrocław, less than 200 metres from the hotel. It is the artistic patronage of Europeum, where works of applied art are created and displayed throughout the hotel, giving it a unique soul.

Marcin and his team specialize in creating works of art using materials such as glass, ceramics, wood, copper, and brass. They have extensive knowledge and expertise in creating new techniques of artistic expression and restoration, making their creations truly one-of-a-kind.

Piotr Micek

The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design, Department of Ceramic and Glass, Wrocław, Poland (MA 2010).
He creates his paintings through a composition of multiplied elements that lead the eyesight from the whole to the detail.
“It is important for me to be able to read these images as a whole while recognizing the value of the individual,” explains Piotr.
You can see it for yourself by admiring his works that hang in our rooms. Look carefully, Piotr also creates applied art, for example, mirrors.

Daria Wartalska

Doctor of Sustainable Design, Master of Art History at the University of Wrocław, graduate of the Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts, Faculty of Ceramics and Glass, Wrocław (MA 2010).

Recycling of glass requires the same amount of energy as new production. This issue became the basis of Wartalska’s master’s thesis, in which she designed a complete utility set made of disposable bottles with minimal energy consumption. This is how her path to sustainable design began. Daria continues to work with waste, ecological technologies, and socially responsible production processes.
Her vision is to prove that design does not play a player role in mindless consumption, but plays a major role in the holistic use of products. She strives to (re) design objects in such a way that the resources used can live in the best possible way in the cycle of things.
